Personalized Mugs for Moms

Mothers are everywhere. Without them there will be nothing to be called as a family. They are being regarded as the light of our home. However, you will not only see a mother at home. There are mothers in almost every field may it be professional or not. I am a mother myself.

With our office considered as my second home in there I have also found my quasi mothers. This mother’s day I have come up  on giving them monogrammed coffee mugs as my present so they will always remember me. I just hope they will like it. Nevertheless, it is indeed the thought that counts.

Beach for this Summer

Yesterday, the venue of our company outing has been finalized. It’s gonna be in the beach named Canyon Cove Beach Club.

There we are expected to have fun and enjoy with my more or less 1500 colleagues. There will be games, talent contests and food to get pleasure from. It will be on May 15 of this year. At least earlier than last year’s outing.

Woohoo! Excited about it! Hope my office friends will join this time.

Weight Loss Supplement

Just recently I have shared about me having thoughts of what’s going to be my personal weight reduction program. Until now I have not chosen yet what it could possibly be. I have received suggestions of taking weight loss supplement instead and was even told that there were no hydroxycut side effects heard and known so far. Since I look forward to a fast, safe and effective way to lose weight; I guess I should try it.

Who knows? The next time my friends will see me, it would seem as if I have not been off from their eyes for so long as I still possess the body figure I was once wearing.

GT: Trying Hard Techie

I have always regarded myself as a TH Techie. I would love to own gadgets but I am hesitant about the costs. Never I did buy a brand new mobile phone for myself. Most of the time I am just being obliged to pay for my relative’s existing phones as they need cash.

The only gadget I have which is very useful for me is my 8GB iPhone. I guess it was one of those first release units bearing a Model number MB046LL. It may be old as it seems but I am still contented about it.

Due to my frustration on techie things, early last year I made myself a blog entitled Trying Hard Techie which you may also want to visit and follow. Hihi!

Defending a Victim, Defending an Accused

I don’t want to seem overly judgmental but with all the graft cases being discussed in the Senate nowadays, I wonder how indicted persons are being defended even though they are obviously guilty on the allegation. Well, I give high regard to the defenders who can shield their client and make them acquitted based on truth but I do trust somebody like lawyer tucson who provide legal help and claim on personal injuries – defending a victim. Making your client recover what is due and recoverable is indeed better than making an accused person to appear unguilty.

Planning to Work Abroad

I have been working locally since year 2002. Almost nine solid years of experience. I graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and was fortunate being employed in the same field. I was thinking lately of working abroad and grab one of those charlotte jobs being offered.

Somehow I am happy with the location of my current job and the way I am earning just enough for me and my kid. However, there are times when I desire of getting more and accomplishing my long term plans in a shorter period of time. And now I am trying to consider working overseas – if God permits.

Visita Iglesia 2011

Visita Iglesia originated from spanish words which means church visits. I am just glad that I was able to do it again after seven years.

I experienced it before in Pampanga where in we visited those big and historical churches in there including that of half buried church due to the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo back then.

This year we did it taking Cavite route. We started in the town of Trece Martires (1) going to Indang (1) , Mendez (1), Tagaytay (2), Silang (2), Dasma (2), Imus (1), Kawit (2), Noveleta (1) and lastly Tanza (1). Fourteen churches all in all as we prayed through the images of the stations of the cross portraying the following:

  1. Jesus is condemned to death
  2. Jesus is given his cross
  3. Jesus falls the first time
  4. Jesus meets His Mother
  5. Simon of Cyrene carries the cross
  6. Veronica wipes the face of Jesus
  7. Jesus falls the second time
  8. Jesus meets the daughters of Jerusalem
  9. Jesus falls the third time
  10. Jesus is stripped of His garments
  11. Crucifixion: Jesus is nailed to the cross
  12. Jesus dies on the cross
  13. Jesus’ body is removed from the cross (Deposition or Lamentation)
  14. Jesus is laid in the tomb and covered in incense.

Having it done is a different feeling something with a higher level of fulfillment and I hope we can do it again and became our annual devotion.

Mother’s Day Gift

Mother’s day is once again fast approaching. I have been seeing a lot of on-line offers on some gifts or presents to make this day extra special for our mom. I have been thinking lately of seeing my mom again after a few years of having no communication with her. But I guess it would be better if I would sent out to her a cool personalized stationery prior to  meeting her up to let her know somehow on the onset how I really miss her.

Now I am missing my closest friends’ mothers as well. I will always treasure how they have treated me more like their own daughter all these years.

Thinking About My Personal Weight Reduction Program

With all those photos coming out from our college treasure bin lately, I came to the point of realizing how really big I have become. Comparing my size back then motivated me to think of my would be personal weight reduction program (wrp). I know it is not an instantaneous thing to set but I’d like it inexpensive or better not to cost me even a single penny.

Determined as I am I already started jogging around our subdivision every morning for about thirty minutes. But I guess that isn’t enough. I still have to match it up with a diet program. What if I eliminate rice from my everyday food intake? I ain’t sure if I can stand with it but my friends told me its effective.

My main target is to trim my big tummy, do I have to do some gym activities? Should I undergo an after-six diet program? Would it be advisable for me to take medications or at least cleansing tea to help me out? I am aware that reducing weight is such a tough thing to do aside from the fact that it really takes time. Perhaps it needs more of the attitude of perseverance and patience. I just hope I can do it.

BM: Son Leaving Momi for Vacation

Coi in his blue stripes sweatshirt

At his age of less than three, my son Macoi left me this morning for a vacation. He will go to the province with my uncle and aunt to spend the holy week in there. They took the opportunity to do a small construction project in our house there as my uncle is off from his work for a week.

Since no one will take care of my son while I am still working until Wednesday, they just decided to take him with them.

This will be the longest time Coi will be away from me. I’m gonna miss him for sure.

8 Principles of a Good Sports Team

I am a sports enthusiast. I play games (mostly ball games) whenever I have the chance; be it basketball, volleyball, table tennis and even badminton. I may not be an expert about these things but I have an unambiguous understanding on each of them.

More often than not, I aspire to become part of a team. However, due to an unanticipated instance I have chosen to send regrets from a certain volleyball team. And this has triggered me to write about my own opinion about the morale of a good sports team.

I believe that a team’s pride would not just rest about winning a title, it’s about how you have established your team earning trust, confidence and reliance not just from the team members but also from other people who believe on the team’s commitment and perseverance.

With that in mind, I guess a good team yells without any hesitation that we were firmly established and we are proud as:

1. We value fairness and equality. – We give equal opportunities for those aspiring players. We value each player’s determination to learn further and improve themselves, thus; we recognize their interest to become part of the team proven by their consistent effort to show up and participate in the scheduled practices.

2. We promote honesty and integrity. – Each of the players went through the same level of training from where we have based our selection process. We have a training program that reasonably measures a player’s skills and ability. Recommendations are welcome but a player’s involvement is a must.

3. We play with loyalty and dedication. – We are not preoccupied by the thoughts on what support we can get being a team member such as allowances, sporting goods, recognition. We play because we want to, we take responsibility about being a player, we exert time and effort, and we aim to bring honor to the team.

4. We uphold respect. – Regardless of their contribution to the team we show respect to our leaders, members and players, opponents and to everybody.

5. We craft motivation – Being a team we are being watched at, so we are bound to make ourselves as a model of the role each of us is playing. This is something from where we are pulling our pride out.

6. We build strong bond and camaraderie – As a team we are friends, we trust each other. We are open. We give each and everyone the chance to speak out and we see to it that there is no ill feeling from anybody. If there is any, we ensure to resolve any issues. We encourage, accept and value suggestions.

7. We learn from each other – We don’t just look at how a player has performed in the past or how each of them are expected to play. We share knowledge, we learn as we continuously help each one to improve on their skills. We do not just focus on someone’s playing expertise (position), as much as possible we encourage versatility.

8. We look up to God – In recognition of His presence at all time along with the appreciation of those strength and talents He has given us, we offer our activities to the Lord. That without Him there would be no games, no chances of winning, no us.

I hope I have completely plotted the qualities being looked for in a team. Not that I am asking you to find a perfect team but look for a team who at least knows the definition of the word “fairness”.

It is but natural to put winning in a team’s perspective as they are basically driven to win but it will be more important to instill in a person’s mind that sports is also about working harder, gaining more friends and living a good life.

To end this up, I’d like to leave a quote for you to ponder on:

The desire to win is born in most of us. The will to win is a matter of training. The manner of winning is a matter of honour.” – Margaret Thatcher

JB & FPF: Beautiful Accountants

from top left - niko, dhang, momi apols, jhoie, t2 bam, beth; from bottom left - kat, anne (myself), may

Lately, my classmates have been posting various college pictures reminiscing those times when we were regarded as worst block. Hehe! I revisited my albums and found some of our group pics. I concentrated more on our JPIA-PLM Acquaintance Party (held at Dusit Hotel) when we were in our Senior years back in Year 2001-2002.

Obviously we are all accountants by profession and since we were in block section we have established our constant companions and has formed a group composed of 10 girls and 1 boy. Missing in the picture is a girl and a boy who were a couple back then and until now (happily married).

I remember we slept in one house (momi apol’s) and there we did the picture taking. It was evident from our smiles that we really had fun and of course the girls were considered and will remain to be
